Pangong Lake

The region of Pangong, also called as Pangong Tso, is located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a very peaceful place that is famous among tourists from across the country due to its sheer scenery and breathtaking beauty. The region of Pangong Tso is located in the disputed region between India and China, because the line of control between India and

China passes directly over this region. This however does not hamper tourism in the area; as many tourists flock to the region in order to revel in its scenic beauty.

This region is mainly known for the lake that is located here, also called as the Pangong Tso. Tso in the local language means ‘Lake’ and this is why the place is called Pangong Tso. Pangong Lake was once a freshwater lake, but now the water turned salty, over time. The surface of the lake freezes during the winter season.

The region of Pangong Tso is located near Leh, and can thus be easily reached and accessed.
